We've been in the house just about a month. We are nowhere near unpacked, but we have reached the decorating. We re-painted the back bedroom, the one with the best light, a really nice pale blue and we have turned the living room and the former man-cave into a patchwork of possibilities.

This is where you come in, my dear friends.

This is our living room wall.

We are pretty sold on the beige/brown shade (Almond Oil) but we are still deciding on an accent wall.

This is (appropriately enough) Bright Red

This is Bonfire

And this is Curtain Call

I made my choice but could do with seeing what you have to go in there and what the room is like, can we see? (yes I'm rather nosey LOL but you knew that didn't you)

I love red--it is my favorite color. It appears on my itty bitty phone screen that the shade of "bright red" looks rather bloody. The one called "bonfire" looked cozy and warm without being IN YOUR FACE RED. :-)

I am sure you know this through your experience in painting theatre sets but make sure you get grey- tinted primer and be prepared to do 3-4 coats to get any shade of red to look right. Can't wait to see the results!

Choosing a paint without seeing other stuff is hard. A lot impacts including the color of your existing furniture (including casegood pieces), the orientation of the room, how much light the room gets, what you want your room to convey and architectural features like vaulted ceilings, multiple windows, etc. As a whole, I'm not a big fan of accent walls because they tend to break up a room. Your eye naturally stops with an abrupt change.

I like bright red--it really pops.

My second choice would be the Bonfire, but I'm not really into red walls/accent/what have you. I like red, but just not in my rooms, you know? ;-)

i like the curtain call. it's the warmest of the three, and complements the greenish-tones in the almond oil nicely. I'm assuming the accent color is for trim?

I like the bonfire. It's got a nice warm feeling without being overwhelming. *that I personally am not a huge fan of dark brown in decorating. We used to have a lot of dark brown cabinetry in our house and it just sucked the light out of the rooms.
