Okay.  Here is the deal.  I love a good friending frenzy, but I have never hosted one.

 

I think it is time for that to change.

 

Most of you know how it works, but here is a refresher:

Recently laid off from my job so going through the what do I want to since I was not really happy doing sales by day any longer. Also for the last 8 years I was a special events DJ and the end of the year I am retiring from it. I no longer have the passion.

Hello, I'm Liz. Poly, pagan (priest of Hestia, dedicant to Brigid), live in the SF Bay area. Preferred job is teaching, but currently, having finished a second teaching credential in the Waldorf school system, I am primarily working at home and occasionally substitute teaching.

I like to make art. My husband and I are currently making plans to make kites. I tend toward silly and I overshare personal details occasionally.

*waves hi* I can't figure out if I'm better or worse at introducing myself at 4 in the morning, but I'm up, so I'll give it a shot.

I'm 38, which makes me the world's oldest (if currently unemployed) barista...aka the cautionary tale for English majors everywhere. I write about anything that crosses my brain and have been told I have a gift for making my life sound interesting, so I guess I'm doing something right. I complain about my MIL, brag about my kids (who live with their father, but that's a whole other story), crochet, read, like coloring outside the lines, cook when there is actually food in the house and am just a bit of a hippie. I'm pagan with serious recovering Catholic overtones. I'm a little on the quirky side and am not afraid to show it.

And, obviously, I love meeting new people. Friend at will! (Which one is Will?)

Almost 38 going on 12, sci-fi addict. I adore Doctor Who, Primeval, Merlin, SGA, Star Trek, SJA, Red Dwarf, Warehouse 13, Sanctuary, Surface (why did they never make a Nim toy, dammit?), Firefly ... if it's to do with space/time travel and has Kaylee Frye in it I'm happy, okay? :)

I play three different types of string instrument, write lyrics and compose music, and I like to garden, read and cross-stitch. I have an autistic son of 15 who lives with foster carers, but I see him as often as possible.

I'm a bird lover, and am also recovering from arachnophobia, so there may be talk (or pictures) of spiders. However, I do have the grace to put possibly squicky/disturbing/scary/long-winded or TMI things underneath cuts, and if you ask me to do so I generally apologise and get it sorted for you ASAP.

I collect Doctor Who figures and DVDs. I also have a purring plushie of Primeval's Rex, and a friend who makes Tribbles, sells them on Etsy but reserves them for me!

I'm disabled, a good listener and sympathetic. However, I'm also quite forthright in my opinions and love nothing more than sparking an LJ debate that all of my friends can join in with!

We just had our first (only) child, so a lot of my posts will deal with that, alas. I try to keep the diaper talk to a minimum.

Thanks for doing this, ghost_light! It seems like I've got only a couple of LJ friends who update regularly and even fewer who comment, so I've been thinking I should try to make some new friends. But I don't believe in adding new friends en masse.
