Less than a week before the trip now!  I just got the hotel in Leeds
booked.  It looks like the trains run from Leeds to Scarborough pretty much all day, so we are just going to buy the tickets there.  That will also give us the option to stop in York either Friday on the way to Scarborough or Sunday on the way back.

Now it is down to smaller details.  I need to buy a voltage converter so we can charge our iPods and phones, check in for the flight to Leeds and then general things around the house and to get the show ready.  All small things, but sooo many!

Are you coming down to London at all?

Scarborough is a great little town. Also, I will have to send you info on my fave pubs in York...

I will take any and all recommendations for Scarborough and York!

We are not going to make it into London. This is going to be such a fly-by trip that we arrive in Leeds Friday, need to be in Scarborough Friday evening, the event ends Sunday afternoon and we fly out at 7am Monday morning.

Also! Check the acceptable voltage on your ipod/phone plugs you already have - most work for a range of 110 to 240, so all you need is the US -> UK travel plug converter. That may be what you meant so forgive me if I'm telling you what you already know...actual voltage converters exist but are not cheap and its doubtful you need one.

I've been looking, but I haven't found the info. My iPod is a dinosaur and, when I bought my new phone, the salesgirl said "Ummm....I don't know but /I/ wouldn't just plug it in...."

We did find a converter for about $14, though.

The genuine iPod chargers I have here work on 100-240Vac or so the printing on them says.

Hey! I don't know if this applies to you, but does your phone have roaming? A while back a co-worker got slammed with huge phone charges taking her phone out-of-country. Just mentioning it, just in case! :)

It does, but we are going to try to disable that.

Exciting :D

Yeah, the small details always getcha. I'd never in a million years remember to get the voltage converter, so kudos to you.

I love my dinosaur of an iPod. When it dies, I consider any replacement as a downgrade.

you'll be an hour away from me for a while, I seem to have missed all this though, what's happening?

You are an hour away from Leeds, right?

Alan Ayckbourn has a special weekend conference/event at his theatre in Scarborough and I got a spot this year:
