Sitting in Dad's chair with Heidi asleep in my lap, a Kilt Lifter in hand and watching an Iron Chef where they make fun of Michiba for American ingredients like avocado and Bacon.

Yeah, the old Iron Chef was great.. shame it's not made anymore. What do you think of the American version, which is?

I've only seen parts of an episode or two of the new one with Chairman Shatner. I'm way too fond of the original. Have you seen the Iron Chef drinking game?

I had to research that, I didn't remember Shatner being involved at all. It turns out that he was involved in a pilot version (Iron Chef USA) in 2001 that only ever had 2 episodes.

The current Iron Chef America is quite different and quite successful, and is a lot closer to the Japanese version.

I too am very fond of the original. At least the new one has the same old Morimoto though :)

Ah yes, I do remember those now! I liked it, but I'm pretty much only a fan of Mario so I got annoyed when he wasn't on much :)

It's a Pike's Brewing Company Scottish ale. Scottish ales are my favorite, but Pike's just don't taste as nice being shipped all the way up to Alaska.
