I got hit with a nasty worm last week. I thought I had it on the ropes, then Saturday my computer kept popping up that something was trying to run a backdoor. I've been keeping the pages I visit to a bare minimum and in a different browser and I've been scanning and checking relentlessly. My disc drive is working again and iTunes reloaded, so I think I'm finally out of the woods and can begin logging onto sites with wild abandon.

I had something have a hold of my computer for the last week. It finally "disappeared" yesterday. Must have run enough scans, etc. to rid myself of it.

I've noticed that using Firefox as your browser normally will allow you to still get online because most everything targets IE.
