1) What movie do you remember scaring the bejeesus out of you as a little kid?

2) What item do you own that, if you leave the house without it, you know you are in for a crappy day?

3) What is/was your favorite class and why?

Kind of a convoluted question 2 today, but oh well.

1---Carrie. For the longest time after seeing it, I wouldn't enter any room without first slamming open the door all the way to make sure no one was standing behind it.

2---tube of chap stick or other lip balm, and hand lotion.

3---Anything related to English and/or literature. It's my major, it's as natural as breathing, and it's interesting. Plus, it gives me an opportunity to feel superior to others.

1. Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory -- the bit where they're in the tunnel on the boat with the relentless drivel that Wonka's spouting and the pace and the flashing lights.... I still don't care much for that movie. And really, Gene Wilder was pretty scary, whether he intended to be or not.

2. Er. A book, I guess. Or my purse, which is where the book would be.

3. My favorite.... I liked freshman Latin, but that was because my teacher retired halfway through the year and they got a student teacher from the university and we made her life hell. Though she really seemed to enjoy it and we did still learn things. I also enjoyed senior English, but that was an AP class and we definitely learned things there. I didn't really have any enjoyable classes in college; I liked my Latin professor but the work was tough.

My Bloody valentine!!! I loved that movie as a kid! I used to watch it over and over! My parents were never really strict on my movie watching habits, I grew up on scary movies. Love then to this day.

2.) My wallet.

3.) I liked my Language Differences and Lingusitic Universals class in college. There wer 8 of us and we were all friends. It made for a fun class.

1) And here I'd finally forgotten that movie until I saw that question =) It was a movie from the classic time machine story (probably this one (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054387/)), which featured a scene where the frightened humans were hiding down in some cave from the evil morlocks, and then they saw several pairs of ominous red lights approaching -- the glowing eyes of the morlocks. Somehow those red lights scared me far more than actually seeing the morlocks.

Edit: The lights can't have been red, since we had a black and white television at the time, heh. And I think this pic may have been from the very scene, after the nasties came close enough to see:

http://www.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1362/Mptv/1362/1649_0003.jpg?path=gallery&path_key=0054387 (http://www.imdb.com/gallery/mptv/1362/Mptv/1362/1649_0003.jpg?path=gallery&path_key=0054387)

2) House keys.

3) English. Cause then I could finally read all those SF/F books with the intriguing covers =)

1 - E.T., the point where he leaps out of the cornfield, right into Elliot's face, and starts screaming in terror.

2 - Cellphone, aka calendar/to-do list

3 - Uhm. Electricity and Magnetism; I enjoyed the material, and was highly amused to be the only non-major in the class. Electronics was also fun, but I didn't get to blow a breaker or fuse, pout.
