My Favorite Card

A few years ago, on Mother's Day, I walked into the computer room and there was a card sitting on my keyboard.

It had a cartoon of a rather portly grey and white tabby cat slaving away, pen to paper, and read:

Happy Mother's Day from the Cat.

I am writing you this Mother's Day Card, which is a difficult thing because I am a cat, because I love you very much and because, recently, a terribly rumor has come to light and I need your reassurance that it isn't so...

and inside it said:

Tell me I wasn't adopted?
