I swear, new readers, I usually have more content than you have seen this month. Christmas Story ate my brain in a bad way, now I'm in the scramble to finish everything that didn't get done before/during the show so I can go to Mexico for a couple days. I'm hoping to get presents wrapped, cards finished and laundry folded tonight, but history has shown I'll probably just accomplish a couple beers and maybe some TV.
1. How many more things do you have to buy to finish your holiday shopping? (gah!)
2. Have you ever had to go out on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning to buy a present for someone? What was it? (I decided I needed to add a bottle of wine to my sister-in-law's gift on Christmas Morning one year.)
3. Did you buy a present for someone that just makes you laugh when you think about it this year? Who is it for? (
kahteeyah and
scooterpbakes are about tied for me.)
Okay - off to work - wish me luck!

Date: 2006-12-19 05:54 pm (UTC)Wine on Christmas Morning? Here in Oklahoma, that's prohibited by law. Well, the purchasing of wine is prohibited.
But hey, we just legalized tattooing!

Date: 2006-12-19 09:16 pm (UTC)2. I have only gone out once on Christmas Eve to get stocking stuffers for the boys. I totally forgot about the stockings one year.
3. I did. I bought two custom t-shirts for my husband this Christmas. The sayings are pretty funny. One is just ... so bad it's funny.

3. No. All my gifts are practical and depressingly earnest.

Date: 2006-12-20 08:22 am (UTC)I have gone out on Christmas Eve to try and get a toy that is on the Santa list but was sold out and difficult to find. I never got my hands on it but made some note from Santa saying that it was on back order.

Date: 2007-01-18 10:52 pm (UTC)2.) Usually I'm the type that has bought gifts throughout the year. Bob tends to wait til the week before X-mas.
Way too early one X-mas morning we had all the gifts except one for his uncle. (A strange, loud & obnoxious older manchild.) We set out on our 2 hour drive to Bob's parents' place. I'm in panic mode, "We still need a gift for your uncle!" About 3/4s of the way there we see an open Walgreens. We emerge with; 3 cans of Planter's Peanuts, a foot long Radio Flyer Wagon, wrapping paper, tags, tape, & a pair of scissors. In the front seat of the car we; assemble the wagon (ha ha), form a pyramid of peanut cans in the wagon, & wrap it. (ha ha ha)
We give the odd mis-shapened present to his uncle after X-mas breakfast. It was the biggest hit of all the presents we have ever given him. Go figure!
