I had my yearly checkup with the allergy doc yesterday. He is absolutely delighted with my progress and the general state of the userinfoghost_light allergy-wise. We had a nice talk about what foods are the most likely to cause symptoms. I finally admitted that stress is a trigger and he used that as an opportunity to get on his soapbox about taking my Singular. I'm actually going to try to do it this time. I got a flu shot yesterday too - reportedly the last one in the office (or, as the girl administering put it 'the last available dose in the whole wide world.') The doc told me afterward that it was also the preservative-free pediatric dose. He though I would like that.

Have you ever done a rotation diet? I did it once and I was blown away at the things that I am mildly allergic to, like beer!

I have not done an actual rotation diet. The diagnosis came with a list of foods that contain yellow #5 or are high in salicylic acid and a warning from the Doc not to try an exclusion diet ("You all do. You can't do it. Please don't try, just eat smarter."). I did try, of course, and spent a miserable summer away from my hubby and unable to eat anything. Learning to cheat is about the only way to exist with this, which is why the Doc and I talk about the worst triggers and how much of what I can eat without triggering massive attacks.
