Have you ever wanted to be in an action movie?
Now is your chance.
Local film company Crooked Pictures is staging the climax of their current production “Way Up North”, a whimsical tale about betrayal and revenge set in the last frontier. The climax takes place in a bar brawl of epic proportions. Gun slinging, street combat, topless waitresses, a bullmastiff, buckets and buckets of blood… this is going to be a bar brawl to remember!
With over 200 local contributing artists “Way Up North” is proving to be one of the highest level production shorts in Anchorage in a very long time. It will be submitted to some of the most credited film festivals in the world and has an estimated public release date in Anchorage set for November.
The action scene will be shot over the course of the first 3 weekends in April (the 5th & 6th, 12th & 13th, and 19th & 20th). We will be in production these days from 11AM to 11PM. Although not every actor will be required for the duration of everyday, we are asking everyone involved to be available between these times on the specified dates. We are looking for motivated talent who are ready to work hard and bring this action sequence to life. We are mostly looking for males between the ages of 18 and 90. Several extra positions are available for those without stage combat skills too.
Don’t miss your opportunity to show off your skills! This is truly an amazing opportunity to put your craft to work on a project that is unique to Anchorage. Contact director Levi Taylor to find out how to get involved.
