1. Ummm... matchstick in the water you are poaching eggs keeps them from bursting. (I just read that in a Nigella cookbook - never heard it before).

2. Wear a jacket or you'll catch cold.

3. Not very. I do have some rituals but they are more for comfort than superstition.

1. Don't go swimming for half an hour after eating (though I have a feeling that one is sort of true, lol)

3. You know, I can't think of anything. Probably something to do with if you eat then go swimming and die it's your own fault

2. Not very. If I walk under a ladder I go 'hey I'm walking under a ladder' but don't think anything of it.

1) Don't go swimming for at least half an hour after eating... even though i've never found it to be true...

2) Not so much "mom logic" as "evil mom curse": "May you have children and may they be ten times worse than you."

2. I didn't have a mom, so any Mom-logic I might have received would have come in the form of Mr. Mom-logic from my dad. Not quite the same. The one that comes to mind is, "I'll give you something to cry about." ;)

3. A little, I suppose. I think it's more about the ritual aspect of it. It's somehow comforting to know that, whenever I spill some salt, it will always be okay for me to throw some over my shoulder onto the floor.
