Breaking The Silence

I don't often use this 'journal as a soap box to comment on current events, but this issue has gone on long enough and I cannot stay silent anymore.

It is time for Martin Sheen to step forward and bitch slap some sense into Charlie.

Emilio, I bet you could still take him too. One of you.needs to man up and take charge here.

At this point I'm not sure getting hit by a truck would knock any sense into that man. But it would be nice to see some of his family at least try.

I agree! Even if it doesn't do any good, they need to at least try. Most celebrities that end up going down this road just need a good slap in the face by family and friends.

*shrugs*

Srsly, I wonder how much of the appeal is people with similar family situations (minus the $40 million TV contract or however much money he makes).

Without the dough and celebrity status he's just another out of control, obnoxious fartwad.

I agree that he does need some sense slapped into him but there comes a time though, when taking charge isn't really going to do much at all. Speaking from experience, you can't take charge of someone who doesn't think their life needs taking charge of. Speaking from my personal experience with substance addiction, most of the time with someone at that kind of point basically one of the only things left to do is cut ties and try and throw them partially into a rock bottom (the rest they will do themselves). Being forced does jack all. I was forced to go to treatment 3 times and it did nothing for me until some pretty epic stuff happened and my circumstances and my self realization made something happen

I find it really sad the way people are taking advantage by inviting him on TV shows and putting up on on stage. I've never liked Charlie Sheen and he seems pretty self-destructive at the best of times, but it's clear he's very sick right now.

~laughs~ Charlie enjoys being bitch-slapped tho...he gets to be on TMZ when it happens.

I kind of feel bad for his family though. I went to college with his oldest daughter and she seemed like a really down to earth person. Even got to meet Martin once cause of that.

I honestly think they've probably tried to do something about it out of the public eye, but he seems like he's so far out into the deep end nothing really would help except hitting rock bottom.

I'm just really sick of how the media keeps shoving him back into the lime light, that "we" keep giving him all this attention for it. Fucking Hot Topic has "Winning" T-shirts. If a normal person started acting like this everyone would be calling for them to be thrown in the funny farm. I honestly believe the continued coverage of his bat-shit insanity is just feeding the fire. We're giving him the attention he wants.
