Happy 'Journal Day - Take 2!

My Livejournal is 10 years old today! I am thinking a good way to celebrate this milestone is hosting a friendzy!

You probably, all know the drill by now - post an intro below, get to know some fun people.

I will start, if,'journal doesn't mangle this post!

Hi! I'm ghost_light, I'm 43 and I suck at writing intros. I live in Anchorage, Alaska with my husband LonelyDumptruck and 296,000 other people.

 

I work days doing data entry (why yes, that is as exciting as it sounds) and helping out at a small real estate to afford what I really like to do - theatre and roller derby! 

 

I am a Talking Woman and resident stage manager for a burlesque troupe and I  stage and house manage for the Performing Arts Centre where I have been heckled by Bill Engvall and had Kenny G. stick his tongue out at me as we passed in the hall.

 

I am a  Skating Official (referee) in
the Derby Intelligence Compliance Squad for Anchorage's roller derby league.  Yes, that means we are DICS.
I look forward to meeting all of you!

This current journal(my second since 2004) is 5 years old (since 2008). Congrats on 10 years!

My name is Kristy. I've been married 17 years to my husband Shawn. We have two sons: Erik, who is fourteen years old, and Logan, who is 3 years old.

I currently sell handmade items locally and through Etsy/Facebook. I also still write freelance when the opportunity arises.

My favorite things are books, gaming, the Autumn and Winter Seasons, knitting, sewing, quilting, taking pictures, baking and most anything nerdy. I absolutely love science and history jokes. I'm a huge ancient history buff and love nothing more than reading up on or watching a documentary on ancient history.

TV: Well I don't watch TV all the time but when I do it's usually stuff like 'River Monsters', 'Charmed', 'Supernatural', 'America Unearthed', 'Ancient Aliens', 'Monsters and Mysteries in America', 'Firefly', 'Farscape'... I think you are getting the idea here.

Favorite Movie: The Princess Bride. I also like quirky things such as Mel Brooks movies. ;D

I'm pagan and I ramble a bit about it but I usually let you know ahead of time if you wanna skip on by. I love having friends of various spiritual path and am not judgmental of any religion. If it makes you happy, go for it.

That's enough, yeah?

PS: Any other World of Warcraft players would make me very giddy indeed!

Sounds like we have quite a bit in common! I sell on Etsy/Facebook as well (or at least try to, it's been very slow lately). I am a fiber artist and have a long-arm quilting business out of my home.

Winter has always been my favorite season, and people think I'm crazy for that. I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains just below a ski resort and I absolutely love it here.

My daughter and I just watched The Princess Bride last week. One of my all-time favorite movies, but she hadn't seen it yet.

It has been slow for me as well. Albeit I'm just starting out and therefore don't have much of a client base as of yet. I've been around since mid October on Etsy, but sold locally a bit before then.

Where you live sounds awesome. I would love to live somewhere that gets snow a bit more regularly.

That's a great way to spend some time together. My kids have already been inducted into The Princess Bride and Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I've been trying to do some local selling also. In fact I'm supposed to do a craft show this Saturday, but a huge storm is supposed to come in Friday night and snow all day Saturday. I really don't want to be out on the roads in that, especially since I haven't gotten my new winter tires yet....

My daughter *loved* The Princess Bride! I'm a huge horror fan, so my kids have watched all of the Friday the 13th movies, Evil Dead, The Shining, Nightmare on Elm Street. The classics! :}

With my oldest son, our thing was watching old horror movies. We had horror movie Saturdays where we would just veg out and watch horror movies all day. My youngest isn't quite to the phase where he can handle most horror shows. He does love zombies though.

Sounds like my son! He plays all of the zombie games on his XBox. My daughter would happily stick to the princess movies, but she'll stick it out for a scary movie or two. :}

I actually had to look up those games. While I do like meditation, I think I'll stick to blowing stuff up with shiny spells.
