1. What is the best job you ever had?
2. Did you know they changed the date of St. Patrick's Day?
3. Can you explain to me why they changed the date of St. Patrick's Day?

2. Yes -- only in terms of the official church observance of the date.

3. The Catholic church tries to avoid observing certain saints' feast days during Holy Week. This year, Holy Week begins on March 16, and so they moved the church observance of St. Patrick's Feast day to the 15th so as not to conflict with Holy Week. Next year it'll be on the 17th again.

It's the fact that Easter moves around, plus the fact that St. Patrick's Day is a bit big, that makes this occasionally necessary. If it were the feast of St. Assumpta of the Little Cistern, that may not have happened.

St. Assumpta of the Little Cistern

I giggled a bit at this, and, not being Catholic, googled it. Then giggled some more. (Am I going to burn in Hell?)
