New Years Eve Memory

When I was very small, I wasn't allowed to stay up until Midnight.  Of course, I desperately wanted to, so my mom got a wonderful, awful idea.

 

"Hey Ghost_Light!  Want to celebrate New Years with Uncle H.O.?"

 

Boy did I!  H.O. is my favorite relative.  He has a pyrotechnic license, so he could do actual fireworks displays for the 4th of July.  He lives in Iowa, and I was Washington.   I was savvy enough to know Mom wasn't offering to send me to see him, but something with H.O.?  Game on!

 

At exactly 9:00, the cuckoo clock sounded and Mom yelled "Happy New Year, Uncle H.O.!  Go to bed, Ghost_Light!"
